The EWG of the SEG met on April 17, 2002 @ Lockwood- Greene, Savannah Offices. The meeting was begun at 1:10pm. Those in attendance were:
Agenda items were agreed upon and were as follows:
(I) "Finish White Papers- discussion."
The EWG agreed that the remaining White Papers have been reviewed and that no changes and/or additions need to be made to them at this time. It was noted that they have been posted on the web site for several months for everyones review. EWG came to consensus that they(White Papers) are fine in their current form.
(II) "Proposed Natural Resources Valuation Forum"
Dave Kyler ( who was unable to be in attendance today) sent an e-mail to Judy Jennings that he is continuing to enlist support and co-sponsorship for this proposed forum. Judy Jennings noted that the League Of Women Voters of Savannah/Chatham and the local chapter of the Sierra Club will co-sponsor. Morgan Rees noted the GPA will be a co-sponsor. Morgan Rees will contact Nat.Marine Fisheries on assisting with this forum (possibly with existing programs that are now in use). Judy Jennings will get this on the SEG agenda. Also, Judy Jennings will get with Dave Kyler on producing a letter to proposed participants and co-sponsors.
(III) Special guest
John C. Snedeker\Chairman-CEO\Synergistic Dynamics,Inc. presented an overview of the Conn. Maritime Assoc. meeting - Shipping 2002. He gave a talk that highlighted the main discussion at this meeting which was on the shipping industry of 2002. Handouts were provided and and reviewed.
Morgan Rees and Larry Keegan noted Judy Jennings is to be recognized and thanked for her tireless work and guidance that she has given to the EWG while navigating through the White Paper discussions. Judy Jennings stated that she will produce an overview of all points that were discussed on the White Papers. This will be sent out on e-mail.
EWG did not set another meeting date at this time.
