description:
The goal of this study is to develop:
- a baseline estimate of shortnose sturgeon abundance;
- abundance and age distribution of juveniles;
- verification of recruitment;
- use of telemetry to establish the behavior of adults and
juveniles within the impacted areas; and,
- water quality monitoring to accompany samples and the use of such
water quality data for evaluating potential impact of salinity
increases and dissolved oxygen (D.O.) decreases on adult and juvenile
shortnose sturgeon within the lower Savannah River.
