Chloride Distribution Evaluation
Started: 3rd
Quarter 1999
Completed:
1st Quarter 2007
Brief description:
An evaluation of the distribution of chloride concentration within the Lower Savannah River is being conducted, including field data gathering, adaptation of the EFDC model being developed for hydrodynamic and salinity predictions, and simulation of future conditions utilizing the EFDC model variant. The goal is to determine the potential for increases in salinity intrusion to cause an associated increase in the chloride concentrations at the City’s raw water intake.
